Novi nalazi u Kandlerovoj ulici u Puli [New findings in Kandler street in Pula]

In the northern part of the old nucleus of Pula, in Kandler street, below foundations of the storehouse of a tobacco factory were discovered walls of St. Theodor church with foundations of the bell tower and part of the female Benedictine convent, during the rescue archeological researches 2005. The oldest Roman building remains occupy the largest surface, covering almost the whole location. This building of public thermae is situated in the eastern part of the site. A relatively well preserved private house (domus) with black-and-white geometric and monochrome mosaics have been discovered too. Among other findings, we distinguish fragments of architectonic decoration of marble and limestone dated to Roman late antique and pre-Romanesque period.
