résumé de l'AIEMA
:
Items covered are: a mosaic from West Dean (Wiltshire) donated to Bristol City Museum in 1956 by Mr H.J.G. Rudman; mosaics discovered in Chichester (Sussex) in 1811 and 1972 (neither of which can be identified, but the first of which may represent a confusion with a Seasons mosaic at nearby Bignor); a mosaic found in the garden of Mr J. Matthie at High Wycombe (Buckinghamshire) in 1817; a fragment of a mosaic found in proximity to Crosby Hall, Bishopsgate, London, in 1907 (probably identical with Neal and Cosh Mosaic 370.37, showing a leaf-scroll); a mosaic from King William Street, London, probably excavated in 1914 and transferred to the Guildhall Museum in 1915 (probably identical with Neal and Cosh Mosaic 370.52); a mosaic from Middleham (Yorkshire) found on land belonging to Mr E. Tennant in 1927; and a framed Roman mosaic supposedly depicting Flora lent by Queen Victoria to the Loan Museum of Ornamental Art, a department of the Dublin exhibition held in 1873 (the author suggests that this may have been the bust of a winged female found at Whittlebury, Northamptonshire, in 1850). There are also various reports in The Times referring to the lifting, recording, conservation and display of well known mosaics in London and elsewhere.
