Report on a mosaic pavement exposed in connection with a television programme. Situated at the west end of the southern wing of a large courtyard villa facing east, it featured a series of nine coffer-like panels, two of which contained S-handled wine-vessels and others floral or geometric motifs. The central panel is lost, perhaps as a result of deliberate iconoclasm. A date in the late 2nd or early 3rd century is suggested. |
