The remains of two mosaics are described and discussed (p. 54-58, fig. 9-11). The first, featuring Bellerophon and the Chimaera (room A), has been known since the 1990s but was not completely exposed until 2002; the second consists of fragments recovered from hypocaust channels in room D. The author suggests that the Bellerophon pavement may indicate the presence of a house church. He assigns it to a "Northamptonshire Figured Group" of mosaicists and dates it to the late 4th century AD. |
