In Pindarou and Antigonis Str., within the archaeological site of the Kadmeion, a section of a floor mosaic was revealed. The mosaic was destroyed, as it was maltreated while being removed from the ground. Its design was a double chain-guilloche forming eyelets. It resembles a 6th century floor mosaic from the aera of Isminio, which is currently displayed in the Archaeological Museum of Thebes.
The excavation of the narthex of a church revealed fragments of wall paintings and slabs of opus sectile floor that dates probably to the 11-12th centuries. |
