One of the past rescue excavations that are reviewed in this paper is the excavation of a villa on Aiolou Street. The author proposed that this villa is connected with the eparch (governor) of Thessaloniki, because of the floor mosaic decoration of its triclinium, where was depicted the Sun with the zodiac cycle and a personification of the Months and Winds. In the same villa were found fragments of wall mosaics and frescoes. |
