Opus tessellatum mosaic decorating the Late Antique Church. Unique example in the Eastern Anatolia. Geometric, floral and figural depictions (animal and hunting scenes). The architectural remains suggest that the church replaced a Roman building with 2 x 4 column, which was already decorated with mosaics. The temporary protection on the mosaics have been replaced with geotextile. |
