Restoration and conservation works at the late antique basilica. Planning of a protective shelter above the building with mosaics. Consolidation of the walls.
Excavations in the apsis. The mosaics decorating the apsis are at a ca. 65 on higher level than the mosaics of the main hall. Excavations below the apsis mosaics showed that earlier apsis had a semicircular plan.
Mortar samples have been gathered from the mosaic mortar (rudus and nucleus) and from the walls. |
