The article discusses the identification of the structure depicted on a mosaic from Yakto Villa. Although this structure has been interpreted as a water reservoir in earlier publications; the details of the depiction as well as records provided by ancient writers on Antiocheia and comparisons made with architecturally similar material, support the idea that this structure might have functioned as a commercial port. |
