Excavations at the Roman villas in Cennettepe. An opus tessellatum pavement has been revealed in trench nr. CT 2008-04. The polychrome mosaic bears an inscription which shows early 3rd c. A.D. as terminus post quem.
Consolidation of the mosaic pavements in the area has continued. The paper includes a detailed account of the interventions applied. Following the consolidation and documentation works, all mosaics have been covered with geotextile and buried under a layer of sand. |
