Excavations at the Roman baths (probably 2nd c. A.D) in Hanyıkığı district. Four soundings have been opened according to the results of geomagnetic survey. Polychrome mosaic (opus tessellatum) with geometric patterns has been found. Only a small part of the pavement has been revealed, documented and then reburied. The mosaic (5,40 m in depth) probably decorated the portico (8,20 m in depth) of the palestra of the Roman baths. The floor of the central part of the palestra is paved with marble slabs. |
