Mosaic pavement (opus tessellatum) consisting of larger and rough tesserae revealed in a dwelling below the latrina and the Bath Street. At the side of the entrance, the pavement bears an inscription which is dated to the Late Roman period. Depicted is a kantharos in the center, with « BONA FORTUNA » and « ΑΓΑΘΗΙ ΤΥΧΗΙ » inscribed on both sides.
In the territory of Metropolis, on Deştiman Tepe (Deştiman Hill), remains of mosaic pavement (opus tessellatum) and architectural remains that may belong to a Roman bath have been observed. These were probably revealed during street construction works. |
