Rescue excavations carried out by Milas Museum in Ahmet Çavuş District of Milas. The excavations revealed 6 rooms decorated with polychrome opus tessellatum and opus vermiculatum mosaics, decorated with geometric and floral motifs. All pavements are homogeneous in their technique style and composition and are dated to 5th / beginning of 6th c. A.D. The repertoire of geometric motifs suggests a relationship with mosaics from Cos of 5th c. A.D.. The iconography and style of a medallion with Medusa Head attest the influence of Ancient Art to Late Antique Art. |
