Excavations at the area of the temple. In Byzantine period, an aisle-like structure has been added in the eastern part of the temple and paved with geometric mosaics (opus tessellatum). Probably 6th c. A.D.
Mention of the opus tessellatum floor mosaic decorating the « front » room of a building directly at the entrance of the harbour. In 2005 a water well has been found in the « back » room which made it possible to identify the structure as an hagiasma (sacred water spring). |
