Excavations south of the library revealed a mosaic pavement (opus tessellatum) decorated with an ivy scroll. The pavement underwent ancient restoration and has been partially pathed with marble and tile slabs. The area paved with mosaic is interpreted as a courtyard giving access to the library. |
