Excavations at the Early Byzantinian basilica. Remains of opus sectile pavement have been revealed decorating the atrium and naos. Opus tessellatum mosaics decorate the northern and southern aisles.
These polychrome mosaics bear geometric and floral motifs as well as animal depictions. Probably 6th c. A.D. |
