Excavations at the stoa bordering the agora. The whole surface of the stoa (60 x 9m) is paved with opus tessellatum mosaics. In 2008 ca. 20 m of this floor has been revealed and consolidated. The decoration of the mosaic consists of geometric and floral motifs executed in three colours. On the remaining part of the floor, 10 cm thick layer of earth has been left unexcavated in order to protect the mosaic.
Excavations at the Byzantinian church on the acropolis. The building has a three-aisled basilical plan and was probably built during Early Byzantinian period. Opus tessellatum pavements with geometric decoration have been revealed in the northern pastaphoria and in the northern aisle. The central aisle, was decorated with opus sectile. |
