Excavations at the northern city gate. The gate consists of two entrances with a semi-circular nympheum in between. In 2008, the architectural blocks in the pool of this nympheum have been removed and an opus tessellatum pavement has been revealed decorating the floor of the pool. Geometric and floral motifs executed with black and red tesserae on light coloured background. Probably Byzantinian period.
Excavation in the so-called the « Northern Avenue », probably the cardo of the city. Behind the eastern row of columns, remains of opus tessellatum mosaic pavements and shops have been observed. Probably Byzantinian period |
