Bichrome (red and white) opus tessellatum pavement as well as loose tesserae revealed in trench nr. A3. Size of the border pattern (ivy scrolls) suggest that the mosaic must decorate a large room. Temporary conservation of the pavement. Excavations in the macellum revealed part of an octagon structure (trenches nr. D1 and D2). Probably cella of a temple (?), surrounded by a pteron paved with terracotta floor. Loose tesserae and a mortar layer belonging to mosaic bed revealed slightly above the terracotta pavement. Excavations in trench nr. V1 where an opus tessellatum pavement was revealed by Kastamonu Museum in 1984. In the southeast corner, 1 m² of the pavement was lifted and brought to the museum. Remaining parts of the floor which were not conserved following the museum excavations have been severely damaged. Restoration works initiated. Geophysical surveys suggest the existence of mosaic-paved villas on the eastern slopes of the city
