Excavations in the area of the gymnasium. In the northeast of the building (Area 1), a room paved with mosaic and marble floor (opus sectile ?) has been revealed. The excavated size of this room is 11.30 x 5.21 m. The excavated size of the mosaic is 9,09 x 5,21 m but it continues in the unexcavated parts in the north. Mosaic pavement consists of polychrome, geometric and floral motifs. The central panel, surrounded by a border pattern, is decorated with geometric, floral and schematic motifs. Traces of fire and remains of later fixations on the mosaic pavement. Another room to the west of this room is probably also paved with mosaics |
