Excavation of the theater of Zeugma. The material used for the levelling of the area prior to the construction consists, among others, of mosaic fragments and tesserae. These suggest the existence of mosaic paved houses in the area before the construction of the building. Houses paved with mosaics which had been unearthed during rescue excavations in the area were dated to the 3rd c. A.D. |
