The excavations of an extensive Early Roman House FB (fig. 7) in Area F in the central part of the Kom el-Dikka, including a floor mosaic with geometric decoration (room 2). The floors discovered vary from ramped earth surfaces in room 14 and 15 to remains of pavement in the opus barbaricum technique in rooms 13, 16 and 18. Some supplementary mosaic conservation work was undertaken in the Early Roman House F and at the eastern entrance to the bath complex with the same fragmentarily preserved type of mosaic pavement. |
