Twenty-six tesserae (coloured red, orange, yellow, light amber, green, blue and white) from the baths of the Roman villa at Faragola were subjected to chemical analysis to determine the minerals used in manufacturing the glass and those present as colouring or opacifying agents. It is likely that the tesserae were produced locally using recycled material from various sources. |
