The excavation conducted by the Department of Antiquities of Jordan in the area of the West Church unearthed a fine pavement in opus sectile in the lateral aisles and white marble slabs in the main nave of the church. Some areas of the fabric were also decorated with mosaics representing animals, and birds set in rectangular frames and surrounded by geometric decorations. |
