In a report on an exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the author refers to and illustrates (p. 34, fig. 6) a large mosaic from Antioch, now in the Baltimore Museum of Art, which was not included in the exhibition because of its size. It features five vignettes of Cupids in various activities, including fishing, posing with a bow, engaged in wrestling, and being enclosed in a cage by a “pedlar of Erotes”. |
