During the survey of Boğsak Island, four buildings with a basilican plan, and a domed square building with a cruciform plan (martyrion, church, chapel?), were identified in and near the necropolis. The building with a cruciform plan has been dated to the late 5th-early 6th c. A.D. Illicit excavations revealed fragments of an opus sectile pavement consisting of various imported types of marble decorating the floor of the building.
Also mention of a partially preserved opus tessellatum pavement in the basilican building called Church II. |
