Survey of Boğsak Island and its surroundings.
An opus sectile pavement found in the excavation of Church IV has been documented.
Güvercin Island is a mass of rock measuring 50 x 60 m, 200 m off the shore, situated 1 km south of Palaiai (Tahtalimanı) Bay and 3 km southwest of Boğsak Island. Remains found on the island presumably belonging to a wealthy residential complex from Late Antiquity. A floor mosaic with polycrome geometric patterns has been identified to the southwest of this house complex; another mosaic with black and white tesserae has been identified to the south.
Coloured tesserae have been found in the northwestern part of Dana Island. This island is situated about 8.5 km southwest of Boğsak Island and measures around 3 x 1.5 km. |
