Hadrianoupolis is located 3 km west of the modern town of Eskipazar, near Karabük, in southwestern Paphlagonia. Some of the ruins of the structure in the city have remarkable floor mosaics, dated to the end of the 5th century and the first half of the 6th century A.D. The buldings with mosaic floors are Baths A and B, the Early Byzantine Churches A and B and the Early Byzantine Villa. (Excerpt from the authors' abstract.) |
