A long and narrow podium paved with opus sectile was added between the two entrances opening to the orchestra of the bouleuterion (fig 1).
Excavation and conservation operations at the “Building with Mosaics” (drawing 1). The finds show that this building has five naves and that naves 1, 2, 4 and 5 were paved with similar mosaic floors (fig. 3), whereas the central nave was probably paved with marble. Two phases of mosaics have been identified (fig. 4) which suggest that the initial mosaic floor of the building was probably renewed due to a fire. |
