During excavations in the apodyterium of the Roman Baths, tesserae were found suggesting the existence of mosaic decoration. Excavation of the residential area revealed a building (function unknown) consisting of 5 small rooms paved with mosaics. The opus tessellatum pavements bear geometric and floral patterns executed with polychrome tesserae (fig. 6). The mosaics were documented and reburied. |
