A detailed analysis of the iconographic composition - the image of the Christian cosmos, on the floor mosaic in the narthex of the Great Basilica in Heraclea Lyncestis. The central motif illustrates the text of David’s psalm 42 (a symbolic image of baptism and of the Eucharist), side presentations representing the metaphore of the Christian idea of sacrifice, death and resurrection. |
