The author gives a survey of Roman private houses in the Roman province of Raetia.
P. 14: The author mentions a Roman villa in Brigantium/Bregenz ("Haus auf der Ölrainterrasse"‚ Villa eines Vornehmen’) that was discovered in 1866 by Samuel Jenny. Two rooms contain polychrome figurative mosaics; cf. fig. 14 ("Circus-Mosaik"). P. 17: In Augusta Vindelicum/Augsburg in a private house of the middle Imperial period, southeast of the cathedral, mosaic fragments were found. P. 21: The "Haus des Statthalters" of the same town also contained mosaic floors. |
