The author traces the history of the research of the villa of Milreu on the Lusitanian Southcoast. Three mosaic floors are of the first tetrarchy (room A39, A40, A41), the mosaic of room A1/2 and the wall mosaic of the nymphaeum are from the Valentinian-Theodosian period. They were described in 1880 by Herrmann Freiherr von Maltzahn. Today the fragments of the lifted mosaics are kept in the museums of Faro and Lisboa. |
