Typology and decoration of the Roman houses in Sirmium

In the residential structure in Sirmium are registered two mosaic floors with geometric motifs (structure B – "The House of Dalmatius") (p. 352). The floors of the two apsidal rooms of the villa urbana (of Italic domus type) were paved with mosaics with geometrical ornaments (the period of Constantine I) (p. 354, fig. 12-14). The villa urbana of Roman-hellenistic type were paved with geometrical and floral mosaic floors and floors in opus sectile technique, in the third building phase (the third quarter of the 4th century) (p. 360-361, fig. 19). The small green tessellae, gold plated, perhaps belonged to the wall mosaics of this villa.
