The interior decoration of the Roman houses in Celeia

Mosaic floors were registered in several structures in Celeia. The residential building in Turška mačka – street Gledališka ulica were paved with black and white mosaic, dated to the 2nd century (p. 59, fig. 14). In the reception room of a structure in street Savinova ulica was explored a large mosaic floor in a combination with opus sectile, dated to the beginning of the 3rd century (pp. 61-62, fig. 20). In the north-eastern part of Celeia, at site Selce, war partially excavated a Roman villa with black and white mosaic floor, with geometrical, floral and figural motifs from the mid 2nd century (p. 66, fig. 28).
