résumé de l'AIEMA | :
This research is part of a larger project to study and catalogue the known mosaic pavements in modern Albania, an area corresponding to ancient Illyria, Epirus and Macedonia. To date, 43 sites with prestigious pavements (mosaics, opus sectile, caementicium, etc.) have been found. Some of the most important are those at Durazzo, Bylis, Butrint, Elbasan, Antigonea, Apollonia and Saranda. In total, these sites contain 265 pavements, which are dated to the period between the 4th century B.C. and the 6th century A.D. (Excerpt from the author’s abstract.) |
