The mosaic heritage of Issa in the light of the most recent study can be viewed as a whole, in which stylistic and chronological factors, as well as artistic models, are clearly established.The long duration of very active mosaic activity in the ancient province of Dalmatia can be shown here with archaeological proof. Artistically modest, whether they were imported or domestic works, the Hellenistic heritage is crucial for understanding the emergence and development not only of the mosaic works of Vis but also of the Roman province of Dalmatia.
