This paper considers the materials and techniques used to produce the recently-excavated mosaics in the villa of Badminton Park (Gloucestershire) in order to yield new knowledge about the working methods of a 4th-century mosaic workshop in Britain. The mosaics found at Badminton Park have geometric patterns from the local repertoire, and the preparation of the materials took place on site. Throughout the article the author mentions other sites. |
