The remains of a large residential complex was uncovered in Madaba’s west Acropolis; the building was set against the city’s pre-classical fortification wall. The rooms of the mansion are arranged around a large flag-stone-paved courtyard and are paved with mosaics, some with elaborate geometric and figural designs dated to the 6th and mid-7th to mid-8th centuries. |
