The article discusses the necessary actions taken during the rescue excavations in order to salvage the mosaics in Zeugma. Mosaics have been lifted in either large or smaller blocks or rolled around a wooden drum. The different methods of restoration include the preservation of the original support and reinstallation of the tessellatum on a new bedding layer consisting of aerolam panels. |
