The paper states the necessity of a new (and evolving) corpus for the mosaics in Switzerland. The mosaics in the country bear influence of three main directions: workshops of Vienna (France) and Lyon, those of Northern Italy and finally Trier. The paper concludes with a small chapter on the figural mosaics in Switzerland. |
